(How ditching projector business freebies transformed my energy and client quality)

I was sitting at my desk, doing some authentic AI magic, mapping out a whole year’s worth of authentic email sequences… and then I paused.

Something didn’t feel right. I couldn’t name it yet, but it was there — that little energetic itch.
A few days later, an email landed in my inbox:
50% off an Instagram funnel program.
I felt the temptation to click buy.
But by then, I already knew Instagram wasn’t going to be my main platform.
So I resisted. Oooof.
Then I looked at my projector business freebies setup.
And this thought dropped in:
“Am I just trying to prove my worth through this?”
And it hit me — of course I was.
I was subconsciously trying to prove myself.
And with my undefined Heart Center, trying to prove my worth is something I’m constantly navigating in Human Design. It’s that classic undefined Heart pattern — feeling like I need to demonstrate my value instead of knowing it inherently.
The moment I realized this, I felt so liberated.
Why was I giving away my best stuff for free…
just to let it collect digital dust in someone’s inbox?
Oh myyyy, heck no 🫤
The Permission I Didn’t Need (But Loved)
As if the universe wanted to seal the deal, I came across this on Dani Gardner’s website:
“My email list isn’t for everyone. It’s intentionally small, exclusive, and highly engaged. You won’t find freebie downloads or lead magnets here. Instead, my email community is reserved for clients and students. You can become part of this inner circle by purchasing any of my offerings. The most accessible one being my foundational on-demand workshop — How To Market Quietly & Still Be Successful.”
Not that I needed permission… but reading that gave me a peaceful assurance. Like:
“Hey, she’s been doing this too — you’re not crazy.”
Why (Mental) Projectors Should Reconsider Projector Business Freebies
If you want to work with me, you might end up deep-diving my website, inhaling all the information, and feeling that click that says we’re the right fit.
And honestly?
That shows me you really mean it.
(Don’t worry — I have those spontaneous clients who just know, too.)
Plus… if you can invest in a Human Design branding audit for €22 or my Ideal Client Decoder for €333, we’re probably a better match anyway.
This projector business model just feels more aligned than traditional marketing tactics.
What I’m Doing Instead of Lead Magnets in My (Mental) Projector Business
- Writing not one, but two blogs — this one you’re reading now, plus identity-first branding and marketing — and soon launching humandesignredefined.com where we’ll tackle the real science of differentiation, not another Instagram version of blank statements
- No-opt-in quizzes that don’t require an email address (I personally hate having to give my email just to see results 😂)
- Value-based offers structured to be both affordable and reflective of my time and energy
- Personal favorites like my Ideal Client Decoder, which I genuinely love creating.
These projector business strategies feel natural to me. They may not be your path — but they’re mine.
To me, traditional business freebies often come at the highest cost: my energy.
Letting go of this approach has given me more space for depth.
And the right people? They always find me.
